Barratt Developments

Barratt Developments is the country’s largest house-builder. To mark building its 500,000th home this year Barratt has just launched the new Barratt Foundation to help support good causes. Recently Barratt has increased the scale of its charitable giving substantially to more than £4m last year. At the start of the coronavirus crisis Barratt donated 5,000 face-masks to the NHS plus 400 defibrillators to the St John Ambulance in England and Wales and St Andrew’s First Aid in Scotland. It has also given funds to help charities cope including an extra £125,000 to St Mungo’s to assist with homelessness, £50,000 to the Computers for Kids campaign and £150,000 to NHS Charities Together. As a way of saying thank you to NHS workers Barratt gives a 5% deposit contribution to its NHS customers, so far helping 2,000 workers to save over £20m when buying a home this year.
