Name: ART34 – Thanks a Bunch
Artist: Rachel and Eve Bishop
Thanks a bunch is based on flowers that represent gratitude from the ancient language of flowers, and flowers that have healing properties. The lady walks on a chamomile lawn from which the flowers grow and bloom. She wears a chrysanthemum mask which has properties known to help respiratory disorders and provide a sense of calm. The gratitude symbol is placed in the back of her head.
Rachel Bishop has been senior designer at Moorcroft pottery for nearly 30 years. Her work involves creating the pattern designs for ceramic vases. All aspects are hand drawn and painted using traditional methods. Rachel’s designs have been used on textiles for Liberty as well as on many commissions from them for ceramic work. Her daughter Eve is also an artist and this is their first collaboration.
